It obviously needed a tailplane, so I scaled up a jetstream 3 view to 1/48 scale printed and cut a tailplane template out and rummaged around my spares looking for suitable shapes to arrive at a replacement tailplane.
As it turned out one of the models in the package deal (a piece of crap cheapo Qantas 747) proved suitable after cutting engines and flap track fairings.

I joined the two tailplane halves then with heart in mouth I cut open the fin and slotted the replacement in.

Now I have to scribe the elevator groove in, prime, fill any imperfections on the tailplane, paint it and the leading edge deicers. I have to carefully mask off the fin so I can repair the fin finish at the tailplane joint area. then glue in the new tailplane, fill and touch up the join area .
