A bit more progress on this beasty. I screwed up and used a 1/48 seatbelt set on this instead of 1/72. Doesn't look to bad and besides you won't see much once the canopy is on. Got the fuse together and the wings on as well. The pic shows I'm half way through hacking of the wingtips. I've since finished the butchery required. Once again the fit wasn't too bad with a bit of filler required. Sanding and filling will be tomorrows job I reckon with the horizontal stabs going on as well.

Quick update time. Tail planes are on, model filled and sanded, cannons on and modified to be shorter and it's in the first coat of grey primer to find any seams I've missed. If it's all good tomorrow it'll get it's first of a few coats of Tamiya white primer. Might even get some colour on it Friday but I might let the white primer harden up over the weekend and hit it with the blue on Monday I think. As I'll be packing and moving house when I get home in 10 sleeps, I'll probably finish this one when I get home from my next trip up here in TSV :D

Last update before heading home. Got the Tamiya French Blue on the other day. Came up nicely apart from the fact that the Airfix panel lines are a bit too deep and the paint didn't settle in them. It's an easy fix if ya have an airbrush but just spray bombs for me here in TSV. So that's as far as I got with this. I'll decant some of the paint and brush the panel lines and then overspray with the can again. I'll have to take this home to Melbourne after the next trip up here so I can finish it off. Crappy phone pic and it looks darker than it really is. Pretty happy with how it's turning out so far :)

Geez.......I must say Paul, she looks striking in that French Blue. I have a civvie Gnat that calls for overall French Blue and if it looks as good as your Spitty I will be happy.
