1/72 Steve the Spitfire

This is an 1/72 Airfix PR XIX Spitfire being done as Steve the Spitfire. Never heard of Steve I hear you say. That's probably cos you have never met my little man (almost 5 yrs old) and his obsession with the Planes movie. I was in the model room 1 day doing my 1/48 PR XIX and he says to me "Is that for me Daddy?" and I said "No mate. This is Daddy's plane. But how about I build you a small one of you own?" Yeah you guessed it. He was just a tad excited. Well this "quick" build has been going on for a while and I thought I'd better pull my finger out. Brock picked the colours from all my paints I have and also scheme as well. I actually have this same kit to build again as a OOB Swedish version. As for the name Steve, I have no idea where that came from but I'm reliably informed by the little mini-me that he is gonna be Dusty's friend. Can't argue with that. I'm gonna hit it with a few coats of one go, paint the wheels matt black, the canopy bright blue and the prop chrome Alclad. Hmmmm maybe the next one might be Skipper, the F4U Corsair from the movie. Here's the pics so far

Love it!!.... love the story, the inspiration, and the concept, (and the model ain't bad either :D )
You better copyright the character in case Disney wants to use him in later "Planes" movies.
Ray
PS: and when you think about it.... why wouldn't Dusty have a good mate named Steve!!!

It's hard for me to get used to these changing times... I remember when the air was clean and the sex was dirty..
