In my search for other things, No luck on Shuttle decals yet

I found this little baby, it's the Red Roo boxing of the Fly kit with the Hawkeye decals for TN on this one, there is an AN one floating about somewhere, will probably find that soon, so on to the unmasking I will venture, and see what it reveals





This is a photo from 24/10/2012 (geez was it really that long ago that these boxing were released) which is the last photo I had taken of them AN on left and TN on right, although a lot more work was done in the TN one as it is much more advanced than that photo.

Both look good Graeme, I keep finding stuff I forgot I had!

I took the masking tape off where I could, and found that the Tamiya stuff had left a residue on the surface, downside of leaving it on too long I guess.
So went to Bunnings and got some Desolv it, and along with a micro cloth managed to get it back, except the underside, where it had turned a different colour under the tape, what a bugger
I noticed that 2 of those pesky Flap hinges are missing also, oh joy.




so mask up and paint one side at a time will be the easier way, I think

So decided to do one side at a time, small masking job


after both side repainted


Looks like it could join the US Navy


and then the bane of all airliner modelling, a crack running from the nosewheel through the radome, all I could say way oh deary me

That must have been pretty well shaped hail to crack the nose and fuselage like that ...
