So here is another one I am about to start, I hope to clear most of the 'Amaroo AMARG' during the year as well.

I know the Airfix kit needs a fix'in so I might do some of that if and when I feel the urge.

It will be marked as the Orbital Sciences Pegasus Launch vehicle. Can't start it just yet as it is for a GB on BritModeller. Don't worry there is a 747 I will be working on here for the History Makers GB as well.

Just saw this over on BM "Ten" GB also. You are going to continue with it over there as well aren't you? {Despite what someone wrote - "a thousand eleven" - strange.)

This built and disturbing an Airfix Tristar - when I dug out the Airfix A300B kit to operate on - prompted me to go looking for an Article I thought I had on fixing up the Airfix kit but bugger me if I could find it! Makes me wonder if I had it in the first place! Does anyone know if such an Article existed or exists?

It's a pity the Otaki kit isn't still readily available to use it instead of using up valuable time correcting the Airfix or Revell kits.

Yes, I will be building and posting on both forums.

The EE kit is apparently an updated copy of the old Otaki kit, have you considered this as an option. It has also been released in -100 and -500 versions.

Yes I looked at them when they came out but I thought the EE kit was reasonably expensive for what they were and even resisted as late as late year when looking at them and the EE/MM MD-11. But as I'm sure Graeme will no doubt post here letting all and sundry know I spent ("blew" is probably a more appropriate word) my 1:144 Tristar budget on a couple of Otaki kits a few years ago. Probably too afraid to build one now so looks like wasting time on fixing up an Airfix or Revell one maybe using the Otaki kit as a correct guide (seeing I can't find that Article I thought I had) will be my lot in life.

I have also seen an Airfix Tristar correction build somewhere. Will have to trawl around to see if I can find it again.

EDit:

found one Tristar correction

There is also a BIG list of issues with the kit on Airliner Cafe.

I think I might drag my EE kit out and compare parts and correct where I see I can do it with a minimum of fuss

Will be watching, I flew on an Eastern L1011 way back in '83 from Miami to
Nassau Bahamas. Thinking it was an Eastern L1011-200 maybe? What's the
Airfix kit? Should be an interesting build!---John
