After a bit of a hiatus, I'm back on this model. Sanding, sanding, and more sanding. Now I have a small issue - on the bottom of the wing, where I have to fill and sand to remove the control surfaces, there's some fine raised detail that I don't want to sand. Other than "be very bloody careful", does anyone have any suggestions for protecting this area? I originally covered it with Tamiya tape to stop the filler from clogging it, but I find the tape makes it very difficult to get that last little bit of filler..

Another small issue....I haven't decided which scheme to do! The colours I have to choose from are the cream, the bone, the white, the off-white, the ivory, or the beige...so which should I do? (actually, they're all white...)

Well, it's been decided by a complicated process of elimination, battles royale, and the closing of eyes and throwing darts at the instructions.....
The winner is:

*drumroll*

D-KUNK

Goodnight folks, and thanks for watching!

Not happy, Jan!

I glued the appropriate wingtips on last night, and prepared the wings for priming......only to find I'm out of Tamiya grey primer. No problem, thinks I....I'll just nip out to the LHS and get some more.

So I jump in my car, and off I go......only to find the place has closed. :(

Another one bites the dust..

Well, I've just received some information regarding the registration D-KUNK. Apparently, it's a Duo Discus T, which has an auxiliary turbo engine. Given I've already puttied the engine bay closed, and there's no motor in the kit, I'll have to select a different scheme...

Oh, I'm making it happen....changing the scheme on this one to white, and I've ordered the Duo Discus with motor from BNA.

Slowly goes the progress on this one...
I primed, filled, sanded, re-primed and finally painted the left wing. One(ish) coats of Tamiya grey, followed by four light coats of Gunze Mr Base white 1000, all from the rattle can. The right wing has been primed, and is halfway between being filled and sanded, then re-primed, with the fuselage still getting it's initial fill/sand. Did I mention I hate sanding?

The only things left to do with this wing are polishing, decalling, and sealing. Then maybe another polish..
