I am bogged down trying to get a nice white base coat on this one.

I have painted and stripped it 3 times now, the oven cleaner has been eating the putty away so I will have to refill various areas before the next attempt at painting.

Back to the bench

Have you tried Tamiya white primer? A few coats of it is what I used on mine. With a quick sand with 4000 grit Micromesh it comes up fantastic.

Even better after 2 coats of One Go.

Yep, I am just too heavy-handed when applying it. Got some more yesterday. I am going to layer it on lightly this time around and stop trying to rush.

I stripped another 3 models back on the weekend due to the same issue, MD80, B727 and C-17.

On my other 737 I CBF'd sanding the belly anymore so i laid down a very thick coat using it like spray putty. Worked a treat. But yeah light coats are definitely the go :)

Wow, I did not realise I had not updated this thread in such a long time.

I think I decided I would use the Braz engines from my last 737 build

Good progress!! I sympathize on many points. Even tiny progress is good, though, so as long as we're going forward and not backward, It's a plus I guess. I'm moving slow on mine, as well.

Thanks guys, it seems I am going sideways on this one, I hit it with white primer and noticed a reaction to some paint dregs on it, so out with the sandpaper yet again.
