A batch of CRJs

Postby Uros » Wed Oct 23, 2019 6:38 am

I've recently goten a package from Big planes kits. First two kits I built were PC-6 and AU 23. Now I'm starting four CRJ kits. Two 700 and two 900. One 900 will be Adria airways and for others I don't know yet.
Here is what I have for now. Kits look great and with some careful sanding they come together well.

Good grief you are on a roll, didn't realise the BPK fuselages were clear, do they give you the masks?

The 1/72 CRJ fuselages aren't, just the cockpit section as I recall

The 1/144 has clear fuselages and comes with masks and window decals. 1/72 has clear cockpit section and clear inserts for cabin windows.

I painted the cockpits and glued them into fuselages. Clear fuselages are paited black from inside and before that, I added white decals to simulate sun shades. Don't know how it will come out, but if it doesn't work out, I'll just use decals for windows.

Wings are also glued on and I started with engine asembly.

Hi, Uros.
What a nice series of Regionals.
Just out curiosity: having painted black inside, the windows will appear black from outside, except for the white sun shades?

Nice production line Uros, looking forward to seeing your progress.

Thanks for the clarification about the clear parts, I have the 1/72 CRJ-200 and forgot about the fuselage clear inserts.

Thank you Ray and Eugenio. Yes, windows will apear black with white shades. I hope to get a more realistic look than decals. I sprayed the models with primer and removed some of the masks to see how it looks.
