Hey! Here is anotherone. Icm 1/144th scale. Plan is to build this one OOB and before end of the year. I will use kit decals for aeroflot and for now I'm going with clear windows. The model is glued together and windws polished. Cockpit widow didn't fit well and I managed to crack it. Luckily right where the window frame is, so maybe it wont be seen.

Another quick start, I suppose you are in winter now and not much to do outside!

Lucky with the windscreen, I have the Zvezda IL-62 and will be interested it see how it compares to your build

Hi Ray. We have winter and lockdown. And I'm off work till the end of the year. Good times for modeling I guess.

From what I've read, Zvezda is much more detailed, with droped flaps option. Both kits have inacuracies. I got this one as a gift, so I'm not complaining. Should look good when done, if I don't mess it up.
Cheers!

Thanks Paul.
Just a small update. I was looking at some photos and noticed gear legs are to long. I have shortened them so now they are in compresed position. Putting pins in it also makes them stronger as kits plastic is very soft.

They still need some cleanup.

Paint is on.

I had a plan to do clear windows but I schratched that. I just can't make them look good in this scale. New plan is to paint them. Kits decals have clear windows on cheatlines. I painted strips of decal film and applied where windows should be, then applied cheatlines over them.

One side done and I really like how it came out. I will mask and paint windshield when all decals are done.

Love it.
I am currently working on a VEB 1:100 IL-62, so I am finding this build most interesting.
