Filling and sanding complete! Yahoo!

Scanned Pete Mahoneys decals and taped paper copies on the model the cheat line incorporating the large Ansett ANA titles are long enough for me to able to position the titles in the correct position, the front curvy bit is going to be a bloody nightmare to fit over that complex curve, may have to resort to paint.the fuselage has to be masked white down to the bottom thin red stripe and no more! so that masking is going to have to be spot on!, I am going to need a dozen decal sheets to get this right.
The fin decal had to be shrunk to 92% to get it to fit my model.

Thanks gang,
Vulcan put to bed onwards with Frank..
Well! Lining up the masking areas for the demarkation between the Natural metal finish and the white areas was huge exercise in fun..NOT... I needed about seven hands, non astigmatic vision and the patience of Job, none of which I have. The areas of white have to be "spot on" because the decal fit and look are absolutely dependent on it, anyways, masking was completed on it last night, some scratches and flaws were seen under bright light during that process so I did a bit of spot fill with Mr Surfacer and after a bit of a wet sand and wipe down with metho this morning, I hit Frank with Tamiya rattle can Gloss Black (the undercoat for Alclad) for all the flaws to be revealed.

Hmm not bad, not bad at all, considering it started like this:

now for the white bits on top a little later on today.. Alclad after the white is done

Ok the white is on

Tomorrow:
1. cut the white ridge of paint at the black white junction (heart in mouth stuff using new scalpel blade)
2. touch up a few bits of black (damn remask the white area..had to go out and buy another roll of Tamiya tape)
3. remask and apply various shades of alclad

Yep, what they said
I am really curious that you remove the masking before doing the Alclad though, you are a legend cutting the paint ridge with a scalpel.
