I am really curious that you remove the masking before doing the Alclad though, you are a legend cutting the paint ridge with a scalpel.

There was a reason but I forgot why :D oh yeah I remember now, here is my reasoning, I knew that the white would require a fairly thick coat to get a good solid white so I hit it with white primer before hitting it with gloss white... hence the demarkation ridge line... that had to be cut down because positioning the decal with that "fence" in the way would be very tedious and frustrating (I've done that before), cutting it down exposes the black to risk of damage (it did in a few places) but after remasking and hitting it with black again I have evened the black / white levels and fixed the blemishes... a right royal pain in the arse all this masking but a man's gotta do what a man's gotta do

cheers

A roll of masking tape and many hours of masking later....

a few bits of overspray and underspray, missed a small section on the tail fairing but all in all ..considering.. not too bad bit of a dirt wash and a judicious spray of smoke here and there should cut the contrasts down a bit.. We leave for the UK on wednesday, might have to pull a few night shifts to finish this before we go!

I really didn't like the outer wing panel colour.. it was "airframe aluminium" so I remasked and recoloured that panel with "polished aluminium", much better.. before I sprayed these I assumed that the "polished AL would have been much shinier than tha airframe aluminium but not so.. it is almost "chrome" note to file awy somewhere in my head

Just an amazing result given the challenges this project had thrown up at you.
BTW...I love the "Wally version" Dangerous Goods symbology on the mustard-come-GP thinners bottle :D

I don't mind admitting I am having kittens over here doing the decalling, almost passed out from holding my breath as I put these on!
