This is a 1963 issue of the Cessna 310. The instructions say it is 1/69 but other sources have it around the 1/63 mark.
Image

The model is basic with no landing gear or interior with only 23 parts

The decals are toast so I will build it as a local (Aussie) aircraft. I found a very basic scheme that was based in Canberra in the early 2000s. It now belongs to HARS but was last seen at the Goulburn aerodrome.

I started by filling the engraved paint scheme and rego lines

And decided to make a cockpit for it. The seats are the observers seats from the Mach2 Falcon 20 kit, I will make up another 2 similar seats and an instrument panel.
Image

The cockpit is now done, I am not going crazy here, just enough to make it look like something is there. The back seat and Instrument panel are now done

Couldn't resist a see how it will look with main assemblies together (temporarily)

Which now leads the way to start painting, I found a picture of an early interior of the 60s, and boy they liked their browns.

Stay tuned for more....

Thanks Ray,

I have been having issues trying to get it ready for an aluminium finish, though I was there when an overfull airbrush cup splashed paint on one of the wings. More sanding and priming to follow.
