And a question for the Alclad guru's. Is the black primer supposed to be a gloss?Cos mine isn't that glossy but more satin. Maybe I'll have to go back to that Modelmaster gloss black cos that worked well on the pink Mustang prop TIA

Thanks Knotty. The Alclad black primer is more satin than gloss but it's probably just me I thinks

This is the Alclad black primer. Rather satin I think. Gonna try some gloss black enamel on it tomorrow. Fingers crossed :?

yeah....needs to be gloss black mate, there is no substitute when using Alclad.
I have had sort of a love/hate relationship with Alcald ....when it works well the results can just be amazing, but when it screws up geez, it can be frustrating!!!

and she is there because of a major Alclad screw-up on my part. I haven't yet mustered the energy to give her another crack, so I admire your persistence.

Bummer Ray :( OK I'm gonna spray gloss black enamel on this in a minute. How long should I leave the black to dry before being able to spray the Alclad over it? The reason I ask is that I leave to TVL this Sunday and don't want to leave the masking tape on for a month, but I've already painted the front black. Or should I remove the tape and remask it when I get back? Decisions, decisions :? :? :?

Tamiya Black in the spray bomb is what I use also for Alclad.
