I would love to do a 1:72 Telstar Macchi and Vampire.....don't suppose you would know where I could get the decals for both??

Pete at Hawkeye has a Vampire sheet in the works (among other things) and maybe the Macchi as well (but can't be sure about that).

Great work so far. What kit is this? I didn't know there is a half decent kit of the Macchi in 1/48. I'd love to build one some day. Thanks for the inspiration!

Cheers

Adam

Italeri or Esci Adam. They've been around for years and have excellent AM products to boot!

Thanks guys for the comments. I believe I have provided Peter with the basis sheet to do both Vampire and Macchi Telstar schemes. He just needs to correct some faults.

A start has been made on the Roulettes Macchi A7-054 flown by Jeff Trappett the day he was crashed into in flight and landed safely and which is now I believe sitting in storage at Moorabbin.

The orange over spray was removed using a cotton bud and 'Kitten' car cut and polish whilst still slightly wet. Worked a treat with no residual.

My other 3rd Macchi which will also be a Telstars Macchi but A7-001 has had a coat of Dark Orange applied to its wings for the stripes but doesn't look any different to the orange plastic at this stage.

Very cool indeed Andrew....the Macchi is such a pretty jet.
You do some good masking and straight line work indeed....those skills would lend themselves very well to airliner building :D
Keep up the great work and thanks for keeping us posted on the Macchi production line.

Cheers Ray. Today the silver and black were added. Tomorrow the leading edges and touch ups before decals in the next couple of days.

She is looking very slick indeed Andrew...... I had not really appreciated how elegant and attractive that scheme is until looking at your evolving model.
Good to see the photo-posting problem is sorted.

PS: and if that reference book in your photo is the one I think it is, have a look at page 75....and no, I didn't take the shot. :D

A multiple update to night as the third Macchi now has some paint and the final touches are done on the Roulettes Macchi. Hope to have some gloss down tomorrow afternoon in preparation for decals. As that's drying I'll press on with the Telstars Macchi. Ray I'll have squiz tomorrow.
