I'm recommending a barricade be set up around this model at Expo - say a good 1 or 2 metres around this model - just to stop other people drooling all over this incredible model!

Forbidden DH-88 Comet - AARRRRGGHHHHHHHHH!

There is still time for me to do another 3 models isn't there Ray? LOL!

Well guys, This is the last WIP for this model, as I have sat back a couple of meters from the model, had a few moments to think about it and then call it finished.

I needed some magic to get me into the zone to finish this model, so I took it to my good mate Simmo's house for some Black Magic!

Image

The last stage of the canopy was to apply the red outer frames. For this, I cut strips of aluminium foil from the kitchen, Primed them pink, painted them red and then coloured the underside of them black with a marker pen. I then used my canopy glue to glue them to the outside of the canopy followed by a rub down with a cloth.

I also Scratchbuilt the small sliding windows and tracks either side of the canopy and deployed them one open all the way and the other partly open. The whole canopy is made from 43 individual parts.

Image

You can see from the top down that each of the sliding panels is angled out from the canopy in their tracks.

And that moment that we all love, Finished!!!! Will get some good shots over the next couple of days.

This is a lovely piece of modelling. I enjoyed seeing it come together, it makes the end result even more amazing. Congratulations.
