Finally doing a civil bird for you guys. A mate at work has asked me to do a Qantas A380 for his son. Even though Civil airliners are not really my cup of tea, I said I'd do one for him if he got the kit. So here it goes.



The kit has a lot of flash, but cleans up easily enough.




Being 1:144, the sub assemblies and pieces are a lot smaller than I'm used to, but it seems to be going well enough.




Its a big one. Here, i've added the 4 gram nose weight and are waiting for the glue to dry.


Really moving on this now. I was going to wait to attach the wings after they were painted, but thought cleaning up the seams then would be more of a task and so attached them today. Engine builds have commenced.

Great start Troy......and good on ya for being willing to step out side your comfort zone, (does this mean I now have to build a bloody F-4 )
The 1:1s cause me no end of grief at work, but I will enjoy watching your 1:144 A380 come together.

F-4's are easy. Even Paul can make one, aledgedly. I haven't actually seen him build one.

Not being in a position to comment on actually finishing a model, (there's a novel and abstract concept for me to digest ), I'll just sit back and admire the models of those blokes who actually do complete models. Nice spread of
F-4s there Paul, and while I prefer my military jets in cool civvie schemes......I must say, that USMC F-4 is really quiet lovely!!!!

Started working on cleaning up the seams today. Using perfect plastic putty, it hasn't been as bad as I thought, still after getting the primer coat down, I can see I have still a bit of work to do.

Looking the business Troy.......you are tackling this airliner-building stuff like a pro!!!
Seams are always a pain in the back-side when building airliners, (it's those dam long, straight fuselages ), but you have adopted the best method of tackling them.

I'm still going. Ive spent the morning filling and sanding seams. Its getting there. Just applied some more primer and we'll see how it looks soon.
