The Enemy Below as a kid in the early 60's. It was loosely based on the
fight between the USS Buckley and U-66 in the Atlantic on May
6, 1944 in which the Buckley ended up ramming and sinking the
German U boat. I used Trumpeter's excellent USS England kit and
built it in Buckley's early war configuration before she was refitted
with AA for the Pacific theater. It was an excellent build with no
major build issues. I only added the sonar dome to the front bottom
hull, the kit required no other scratch building.---John
