FW 200 Condor

Postby tor lives » Wed Apr 23, 2014 5:43 pm

Hi Folks,
Here is my Revell 1:72 FW 200 Condor.
Now, I must be completely honest and admit that I was not the original builder of this kit. It was obtained from a deceased estate collection, and when I got her she was pretty banged-up, bruised, and un-loved. After a fairly significant repair/refurbishment program however, (akin to a 1:72 version of the QF32 A380 repair), she has come out of "depot level maintenance" looking quiet reasonable, (especially given her age and the condition she was in).

The Condor was a most beautiful and elegant airliner of her era.....yet she ended up being developed into a devastating weapon of war.

This was one of two the airline operated through WW2. It was eventually written off in a collision with a DC-3 at Santos Dumont Airfield in Rio de Janeiro.

Gracefull looking bird, lovely build mate..
It's hard for me to get used to these changing times... I remember when the air was clean and the sex was dirty..

I missed this one originally, Ray, but...nice build! Was this the one at Expo? I have this kit in the stash too, and you've provided yet more inspiration for me.
