F-4F -British Caledonian- 1/144

I needed a bit of a break from the more substantial building of (most of) my current projects. I also wanted to add SOMETHING to my 1/144 Airliner collection that wasn't quite an airliner but yet still was...... so, I made this thing.

Pretty fun little what-if. I'll be making more in the future! The key is to find something large-ish as a figther or attacker or .... whatever... and something with a fuselage that will accept billboard type of action in order to accommodate the airline names. This time around I used 1/144 decals from a BAC-111 kit and simply cut down the cheatline stuff to make it fit but I believe decals in 1/200 scale would be great for attempting things like this.

Someone elsewhere suggested an Air France Eurofighter Typhoon so I'm investigating that next. (Don't worry, I'm still doing traditional, REAL, airliners.... I just started and am well under way creating a PSA L-1011 Tristar).

Hear, here! Here, hear!

I love the Phantom. I always get a kick out of the whole "flying brick" stuff. You know, "The F-4 is proof that with enough thrust even a brick can fly." This is to mean that the F-4 is ugly, yeah? I don't get it. It's not a beauty queen by any means but I've always thought it was a very attractive looking airplane.
