Hercules C1 XV292, 25th Anniversary of RAF Operations

A place for our military aviation modellers to show their stuff. It may not be civil but it still has a home here

Hercules C1 XV292, 25th Anniversary of RAF Operations

Well after just over 2 years this shelf queen has been finished.

It was an original tool 1/72 Airfix kit. I replaced the props with those from an Italeri kit and the decals were from Xtradecal.

I had lots of paint issues with it lifting when masking was removed. Took ages to rectify it. Still signs of where it was patched but I am happy it is now on the display shelf.

Nice... I built one of those in 1971, there was one for sale in the swap and smell at expo, I have read that the original mold (prior to conversion to gunship) it was the most accurate 1/72 Hercules shape out there so I thought about buying it (for a microsecond)

Cheers Wal, yes I heard the same about the kit. It goes together OK and I have another to do, got 2 in the box at a swap and sell about 10 years ago :D
