Kawasaki pair

ive just finished a pair of finemolds 1/72 kits....a KI61-11 and a KI100-1a..the kits were very different...

the KI61-11 was an early release finemolds kit...basicly it was a conversion on the hasegawa KI61-1tei...so it had a new sprue for the longer fuselage and whitemetal detail parts(undercarriage legs seat and new spinner) you get a full hasegawa kit in the box plus the bits to make the later model KI61.

the plane i chose to build is the one that has just been restored by Kawasaki in japan...it turned out ok im my mind.

it does capture the real plane in pics...pretty happy with it.

the KI100-1a
is a later release fine molds kit...it's all finmolds work not a conversion but a full kit...and a nice one at that(even though it's a few years old now)...no white metal at all better wheel wells and a proper landing light...BUT in my mind the interior isn't as good as the older Ki61-11 and the plastic gear lags are certainly not as good(the white metal ones have brake lines cast in them) but it eas a really nice kit to build..i wish i'd bult one of my Aoshima KI100's to compare to this...the scheme is for a KI100 operating with the Akeno flight training school.

they both are nice kits...and not that hard work to be honest...but i do look forward to doing the Aoshima KI100's later on....i may need another KI61 or 2.......more Aoshima?

and my 1/72 KI61's and KI100 from the last 30 years....i built the mottles one before i got married

Outstanding results on both of those, love the finish on the Ki61, is that AS12?
