my current project is a Tamiya beaufighter back dated to an early MK1f night fighter,,,so it has redroo flat tailplanes and will have ultracast spoked wheels..redroo short exhausts and a few mods to kit parts.

the tamiya kit is of a MKiv beau that had different oilcool housings ......so modify them i guess i should

so after a bit of carving and milput they look like this.
cowls also needed the front lip removed as the early collectors didnt have it.

well she's finished.......
she is a MK1f Beaufighter night fighter from the battle of Britain period
it's a tamiya 1/48 beaugighter backdated with redroo flat tailplanes, short exhausts and seats plus ultracast early beaufighter wheels...plus PD decals for the main stuff and Damo for the aircraft serials...plus alot of little bits and bobs to make it an early airframe..including modified oil coolers removing the bumps from the cowls and extra canopy frames to make it a very early beau.

it was built for a club stand for expo this year...it has been a challenge to get it finished, but i do like the look even if it from the wrong theater of war from my usual stuff.

as an aside the airframe represented would later go on the be John Cunninghams personal plane for 10 of his nightfighter kills.

Now that turned out tops Paul. Very nice shelf Queen.
When i saw the markings I thought it was "Cats Eyes" Beaufighter.
Nice model to go with the book as well.
