A nice little kit from Revell. Detail is adequate although there are several updates for the kit, specifically the seat and the engine, although OOB they look ok. It does require a good amount of weight to keep the nose down though. Finished in overall blue-grey, this machine was used as an engine test bed by the French post war. The life of the He 162 was rather short in the post war world. Due to the speed at which the aircraft was pushed into production, the quality of parts and the skill of the labour used to put them together, quality was somewhat lacking, with several pilots being killed when parts of the aircraft became unglued in flight. Despite the issues, Eric Brown though the aircraft was quite a good fighter, being nimble and fast.

Nice one Brad, looks good in those colours. Didn't know the French operated them post war.

That's a lovely little model, nicely executed. I always think that this aeroplanes looks so much better in French markings, but perhaps that's just me.

So French!

Capt Eric "Winkle" Brown quite liked the Spatz and said given time it had a lot of potential.
