Italeri F-104S Starfighter, Rimimi, Italy 1977

A place for our military aviation modellers to show their stuff. It may not be civil but it still has a home here

Hi Paul,

I painted it gloss white, followed by an acrylic wash of clear green, followed by a wash of black pro modeller clay based wash to fill in the perforations and really pop the detail.

You will get a good look at it next June mate.

Hope that helps.

Hey Eric

Got those decals you recommended - brilliant! I will build the Joe Walker NASA F-104N, the one he died in as a tribute to this brilliant test pilot. It appears that the "N" had the "G" broad chord fin/rudder as well - interesting. Now, do I wait for the AFV Club 104 or buy the Italeri kit - hmmmm? I've also been dying to try foiling a model as well - perfect choice this is.

Thanks for the link for these decals.

Glad you got the decals ok Adam. Please get some jets done for expo next year mate. My good friend Brent is driving a Winnebago down to Melbourne so I have been invited to load it up with my models and I will bring a vast armada of 1/32 aircraft down south. The list of stuff that I am planning on bringing down with me is growing weekly.

Eric.

This sounds like a call to arms! "We shall fight them on the beaches....!" Me up against Eric in 1/32 is like I'm a 19 y.o Sgt Pilot in advanced training on a Gladiator in a major sweat and Eric is Adolf Galland, bouncing me out of the sun in his Bf-109E4 chopping on his cigar! :D

Still, we must do what we can to fend off this Northern aggressor! We shall never surrender! :D
