Airfix 1/48 Seafire Mk XVII

A place for our military aviation modellers to show their stuff. It may not be civil but it still has a home here

Airfix 1/48 Seafire Mk XVII

I'm not really a fan of these new Airfix kits or Airfix in general. I found the detail to be soft, the plastic chunky and the panel lines would fit in more at the Somme than on a model. The 20mm cannons were not useable without sanding them to an oval so were replaced with turned brass. Trimaster was producing finer detail and better plastic 20 years ago. Anyways, after all was just about finished, I glued the prop on backwards.....shit. Oh well.
