RAN Sea Fury

Postby hrtpaul » Fri Dec 05, 2014 4:28 pm

Hi peeps. Today I finished a 1/48 Kitech (Hobbycraft copy) Sea Fury. It went together ok with a bit of filler here and there. The Kitech plastic is hard as hell and would probably shatter if you dropped it. This one completes a set of 1/32, 1/48 and 1/72 kits of the same aircraft. This one was done wasn't my best work but then I wasn't too fussed and just wanted it done. I used Aeromaster decals and they performed flawlessly as I don't really trust the Nova scale decals. Humbrol paints with a bit of Alclad was used. I used my new camera to take the pics and it doesn't hide as much as my iPhone. Anyway on to the pics :)

Very nice Paul - bloody beaudy mate! The most kick ass piston powered aeroplane ever made I think.

What gloss finish is that - looks good.

Cheers

Bloody ripper Paul, I do like the lines of the Fury. Incidently I saw a dual seater fly at Yeovilton this year funny it being a dual it looked as ugly as sin and did little to thrill me. Similarly I saw that dual Spitfire at Farnborough.. that also looked crappy, but I digress your model (and yourself) are neither ugly (well, one of you is a bit iffy) nor crappy (the one of you does occassional smell :D

Thanks guys. I'll get a shot of all 3 together when I get home :)

Adam - the gloss is One Go over Humbrol Gloss 15 Midnight Blue.
Paul - I've got a few more Sea Furies to do, as you know :P
Wally - I'll take that as a compliment hehehe
TOR - G-FURY is on the to do list
