The King's Convair 880

Postby tor lives » Sat Jul 23, 2022 3:27 pm

Hi all,
As part of my "Private Jets" theme, I am looking for these decals in 1:126, (for the Glencoe kit).

Despite extensive searching of the internet thingy, I have been unable to establish if any decal producer has ever issued these decals for Elvis's Convair 880.
I'm thinking it might have to be a custom job.

According to this Post on BM :

https://www.britmodeller.com/forums/ind ... -released/

Decals are available for the EE kit in 1:144.

Maybe you could get a hold of them and blow them up or just get the EE kit and decals in 1:144?

TOR,

I have the graphic elements already. Can you send me the kit for sizing & fitting? If so, I'll PM you my address...

BTW, all the photo references I can find show 2 possible options:

1 - in-service - no door outlines, lightning flash on tail is mirrored.

2 - preserved - has door outlines, lightning flash is NOT mirrored.

Which would you prefer?

G'day Scotty,
Do you need the kit, or can I just send you the traced outlines of the kit fuselage halves, engine nacelles etc.
Ideally I would love door outlines and mirrored TCB lightning flash.
Thanks bud

I can work with 2D tracings for most of it.

But what I can't do is the cheatline parts, particularly around the nose (compound fuselage curvatures). You'll have to paint those!

My email is scotty100368@hotmail.com

Cheers!

A-hem,

So are you gonna send me some scans or what? :?

=============================================

SCRATCH THAT - I have acquired a kit from France rather cheaply. It will take a fortnight to get to me. :D :D :D

There's no screen-printed white elements required for this subject, so it will be included with your DC-3 and AMSA Challenger order.

Cheers! :D
