They were taken by my late father-in-law but some of the images are of military aircraft in civvie schemes. When I find them there are also some slides of the XB-70 Valkaryie during testing that he was in the US to observe whilst in prototype mode.

Very much looking forward to seeing these pic's Andrew. What may interest you is a magazine out now called X-Planes. One of the articles is about a guy who managed to eject from the X-B-70 that crashed - a pretty riveting story. Highly recommended reading if you are into this subject - you kinda are by marriage!

Cheers

Hmmmm, Might have to track that down Adam. Cheers for the heads up!

My flock of 1:48 diecast racing Mustangs is now complete for the time being, but I will be adding some others in kit form when/where I get the chance to build em.

And especially for Knotty here is my 1:48 Shell air racing fleet

Lookin' Cool Ray!

Anyone interested in Shell Aviation should read up on Jimmy Doolittle - and feel pretty darn insignificant! Doolittle must go down as one of the greatest aviation pioneers and military aviation leaders of all time I think - an absolute genius of a man.

When working for Shell, he was instrumental pushing for more 100 Octane production in USA - when the rest of the world was producing lower octane petrol. This of course had a major impact during WW2 - just one of his many staggering aviation achievements.

Yeah 145! Now you're talkin! Was that a green colour? Yeah - Low Lead, how piss weak! I say we want more lead - more octane! Rotten eggs probably means high sulphur I guess. Hey Damo, up for some "chem spraying"? We need more sulphur dioxide in the atmosphere!
