Yeah....I don't get the "Germany lost WW1 on a technicality" point-of-view....the fact is Germany lost both world wars, simple as that, no debate. Adam's treaty-signing explanation is spot on.
It's like saying that the Americans technically won the Vietnam war....they didn't.

Gawd! Surely you don't think Germany got away Scott free? The very limitations on their armed forces, particularly air force and navy were to have dire consequences down the track. Massive loss of territories and people (formation of new countries outside of Germany), occupation of the Rhineland and loss of some coal mines, etc. Germany's economy collapsed post WW1.
How do you put a price on the massive loss of face signing the Treaty in 1919?
How do you equate all this to a draw? Sounds like creative accounting to me!

I could be wrong........but dont the winners pay?..........post ww11 germany and japan have come out in a much stronger economic way........the US is still paying debts from ww11
