This may answer it for you Paul.
http://australianaviation.com.au/2015/0 ... arch-2016/Word is that the Virgin 737 drivers are NOT comfortable with this development from an Industrial perspective. And I can see why. Down the track.....Virgin 737 drivers on a Tiger Award, that's a dicey precedent to set

Yep....commitment and staff loyalty counts for nothing these days in the cut-throat, take-no-prisoners airline industry

. I was fortunate in that I experienced the industry at it's best......but that was a long time ago.

That does look nice. But I think that design still sits nicer on an A.320.
Ray, it's not only happening to the aviation industry, it's happening everywhere. Once the accountants started running things and the captains of industry decided that their paychecks were more important than the lives of the people who work for them, it's all been going down the gurgler. That's one of the reasons I left the Department of Aviation back over twenty years ago, we were no longer serving the industry or even the public interest, we were serving whatever bunch of economists were running the government that was running the country. It still annoys me after all this time, so let's not get started.
