Here is the first pic of the first RAAF P-8



I am so sick of the RAAF "50 shades of grey".....bring back the hi-viz interesting colour schemes.

Well there is some red on the engine nacelles Ray.

I was aware of the colour scheme for some time but had to keep it under wraps

Considering both the USN and Indian Navy both have high vis schemes On their jets I don't know why we went this way.

Those P-8s will get plenty of work to the north of us soon enough. Very cool seeing a 737 in war colours I think.

When an angry SAM, Mig or Suk "locks on" to a P-8, KC-30, C-27, E-7, C-130 etc, etc, etc does it really matter what shade of grey they are . Do they really think being painted a "wary" grey is going to save their arse
I think it has been forgotten that SAMs, AIMs, and 30mm cannon rounds are colour blind

Too true Ray. Still, good for moral giving them a wary scheme maybe?

High vis colours could in fact help when being intercepted over the Sth China Sea - reduce risk of collision? If it was up to me, I'd paint in big black letters - "F#CK YOU BAD GUYS" on the underside of the wings - perhaps not entirely politically correct, but then again, nor is trying to occupy the entire Sth China Sea!

Dunno, kinda like the wary look on those P-8s, as I do the scheme on the KCs.
