My Pop always said he preferred a cruise ship to air flight. He said if the engines die on a ship, you still float.
Me personally I'd rather die instantly smashed into the ground at just under the speed of sound, than drown.

Likewise. Drowning involves getting wet and I don't like that.
I came back from Tasmania on the boat a couple of years ago on a day like that. Fortunately we had booked a cabin so we just lay down all day and let it happen. It was like an extended ride on one of those carnival things. But I enjoy flying through turbulence much more, you feel as though you're getting your money's worth out of the pilot and the airline.

One company I represent had two employees on that nasty ferry disaster in the Baltic a few years ago. One guy drowned and another was rescued out of the water by a helicopter near death. Won't get this little black duck on a ferry!
