'tis Canberra B1(8) mod WV787, used at Boscombe Downs to test various bits of gear, it has a Buccaneer "Blue Parrot" radar nose.
The crew occupancy spaces ( I hesitate to use the usual term "cockpit") are the finest examples of British design principles of the era, namely, build the plane and worry about where you are going to put the people and man / machine interfaces later. Ok, I am kind of chubby and not very limber and I was hampered by my camera gear and a jacket which snagged each and every protuberance in the space BUT it took me 5 minutes to find a way to get into the pilots seat and finished up sweating as if I were in a suana. The aeroplane hadnt flown for 20 years plus but it retained that "smell" that military aircraft exude, that piquant mix of rubber, oil, fuel, sweat, vomit with delicate notes of dog shit ( no I am not saying a dog shat in it just as when I wine expert says there are hints of lemon in a wine doesnt mean there actually is any fruit other than grapes in it!)
