Does anyone know if there are any efforts to try and preserve the Short Belfast "Hector" in Cairns?

Seems to be a lot of talk on the Internet about saving it but I can't find anything practical being done to save it such as a fund raising page.

Sadly it looks like it will be scrapped sooner rather than later.

Out of interest, how long since it last flew?

The Poms are really going to hate us if we let Hector get scrapped.

Whenever we go over to the UK it'll be "You Ba$tards let Hector get scrapped!".

Anyone got any Fund Raising experience?

I haven't had time to keep track of it really, but I would guess even earlier say 2009
and the Poms can't complain they broke up G-BEPS at Southend back in 2009
