So now LAT/VLAT 747s, DC-10s, Bae-146s, MD-87s, 737s, C-130s, etc are or will be common place.....even in Australia :o , hang on.....when this was suggested just a few years ago in another place, wasn't the very notion of this concept shouted down by "experts" as being preposterous and ridiculous :lol: :lol: . Oh what a difference a couple of years makes :D

Air tankers - meh, just a passing fade - along with other such "fades" as the wheel, automobiles, computers, mobile phones, etc, etc, etc!

With up to five 737-700s to be converted, it seems a market does exist for firebombers . Like Ray said , look at all the different types of tankers now available.I smile every time I see one , because I know what the experts are thinking.

My favourite being no air cranes in the country as proclaimed by one of the experts, only to be told they were at Essendon airport . :lol: :lol: and he was the Fire boss for the Western region at the time ........yeah right , pull the other one . :roll: :roll:

That is not necessary. Just the satisfaction of routinely seeing LATs/VLATs in our local skies is good enough for me.
