Thanks gents. I have just emailed CASA that I'll be accepting their restrictions on the proviso that they're reviewed after 12 months. This is on the advice of a neurologist/DAME who has spent many years dealing with CASA. It sucks, but there you go. Really, though, it just changes what I'll be doing - getting a MECIR rather than an instructor rating. And I can always fly solo in an RA aircraft..

Well you'd better find your enthusiasm soon...you're gonna be my safety pilot for aerobatics!

And the study never ends....I just ordered the distance learning course for my ATPLs. Navigation, Aerodynamics and Aircraft Systems, Performance and Loading (on the 727!), Flight Planning, Human Factors, Meteorology, and Air Law. I'm not sure what to expect at the moment, but most people I know have taken Performance and Loading more than once..

Thanks Paul. I've also just booked in to do my tailwheel and aerobatics endorsements, something I've wanted to do for ages! First lesson on December 2nd....can't wait!

Yep, they still are. Once the regulatory reform process is completed, I'm sure they'll update them..

My props and aerodynamics L.A.M.E. exams used DC-3's and 727's respectively. CASA aren't the fastest learners ya know :o :o :o :o
