AMI temporay information page

As many here will know, AMI continues to experience technical difficulties with it forums.
As a temporary measure AMI officials and members can feel free to use this ACAM thread as a public means of information sharing and updating.
On behalf of all here at ACAM I extend this invitation as a gesture of good will and support as I can appreciate how very frustrating these technical difficulties can be for all concerned. As a Model site owner I can personally empathise with Dave Harvey when these events occur.
I hope AMI is "on the air" again real soon.

That website must have been built by retrenched British Leyland workers, it has failed more times in the last few days than a Mini driving through puddles

Yeah....but I am sure that David Harvey is doing all he can to restore/maintain AMI site functionality and technical integrity. There is a lot that goes on behind the scenes of these sites that I don' think people realize. As site owner you are completely dependant on your IT service providers being on top of these technical issues....and it is very frustrating when they are not.
If this kind of technical event was happening here on ACAM, I would be fuming....David has my sympathies.

Yeah that was what I meant actually..the actual "providers" aren't providing their clients much of a service

Yep....and this is what can become very annoying as a site owner, especially when you are paying the big bucks for the service.

It depends on the purchase/services contract you put together with your provider/hoster. I can't speak for other sites but Melbourne IT is the current ACAM site builder/maintainer and they do provide a great service with certain guarantees.
We here at ACAM have only had the one "error" technical event to date, (touch wood), and I must say that Melbourne IT were all over it in quick time.....they seemed to understand, (with just a little encouragement :D ), that my ACAM membership were actually financial customers who had paid for a product, and that product therefore needed to be delivered consistently and reliably.

I don't post there much anymore (saves me from telling a few peeps how it is  ) but still lurk occasionally. Still got a great deal of info there once you weed out the egos of a few 8-) I bet David is pissed and rightly so. Nothing like paying the big bucks and not get the service ya paid for. Hope it's up soon :)

Looks like the AMI forums are down again due server issues (2105 26/10/14).
Offer still stands lads, if ya need to use A/CAM to get comms/updates out to your AMI membership, go for it.
Remember.....people don't have to be registered to be able to view A/CAM forums.
David H/Andrew.....let us know if there is anything else we can do to assist AMI during this time of technical difficulty.

Hi and thanks again Ray. Any other AMIers that may be looking in, I liaised with David Harvey last night and it is not just AMI who is suffering these issues. There are apparently a number of sites that use the same service provider as AMI which are also down at the present. As frustrating as this is for all, there is nothing that David can do but nag them to fix their issues. David has thanked Ray (via myself) for the use of ACAM as an update facility to advise his membership of the issues AMI is currently facing. He also advised that if you have a Facebook account you can view AMI through that until the matter is rectified.
