Dylan's airliner photo thread

Postby Dylan » Mon Apr 21, 2014 10:38 am

Greetings everyone. My name is Dylan and I love airplanes.
I am currently working as an aircraft maintenance engineer for Central Mountain Air in Vancouver. I have some pretty good access to the airport, and photography is one of my other hobbies.

I figured I would start a thread to share some of my better photos with you all. hopefully you guys like them.

first a couple of my planes, the 1900D is not the best plane out there but it keeps me gainfully employed.

the Saab340, I used to work on these as well, never was a big fan of it. engines were a real PITA to work on.

probably the highest time Dash 8 fleet in the world.

Image

but they got a few new 400's to compete with Encore

I love these Horizon special schemes

and North Cariboo, a good friend flies this one around here every now and then.

G'day Dylan and welcome to A/CAM, it's great to have you here.
Hey....some very cool pix there. I love the Surveillance Canada Dash 8 "single point touch-down", (and how cool is that bright red paint scheme!!!). Thanks for posting these great photos for all of us to enjoy.
Dylan, you may have noticed that we have an "Aero-Tech Talk" forum here on A/CAM. This is where members can ask technical questions about all things aeroplanes, and get good and accurate info from those who know. Given that you are an aircraft engineer I think you will be a great resource for this particular forum and the A/CAM membership as a whole.
Thanks again for joining us Dylan. And for the record folks....Dylan was the very first person to register for the A/CAM forum, so he has forum seniority number 001 :D .
Regards
Ray

thanks Knotty.
again Ray thanks for having me and I hope I can be of help on any technical questions that come up.

now on to the smallish jets

the Embraer 190 is a massive POS but I'm happy with the first shot

Image

Image

the CRJ 900 is a much better airplane.

Image

the 200's are still working hard.

Image

the 319's will be transferred to Rouge over the next few years.

Image

Image

the 320/321's are getting replaced by the 737max

speaking of the 737

this old 200 is still working hard in the north. nothing like the sound of one of these blasting off on a cold winter morning.

Image

they have a couple of NG's as well

Having crewed 737s for many years....I really have a soft spot for the little "hot rod' Boeings.
It is great to see the 732 still very active "up North", (no more of em getting around down here in Australia unfortunately :( ).....love those screaming P&W JT8Ds with the cool black smoke trails.

Welcome Dylan and great pics mate. Thank God you're an engineer mate. There's way too many pilots here and we as engineers, need to balance this place out with some intelligent, factual and modest conversation. You're joining A/CAM goes along way to achieving this :P :P :P :P :P :P :P :P :P :P :P :P
Head A/CAM Phantom Phanatic, Shit Stirrer and Karma Bus Driver toot fkn toot
