Mach Loop Action

Postby VH-WAL » Thu Mar 26, 2020 8:10 pm

We have been wanting to get to Wales for some "mach loop" action for a few years now. when the forecast was for several days of fine and calm weather we made plans and set off for a couple of days. Got there in tha afternoon and just missed a pair of hawks go through, after several hours wait, this came along:

Then the corona lockdown was announced and we cut our visit short and set off the next morning heading for home stopping at the loop for 4 hours on the way back... nothing came through.. this is the nature of mach loop photography.
here is the view looking down from CAD East from the approach end:

So the score was for one RAF Texan for 8 hours waiting, I thought I'd share my excitement lol! but it's a lovely place, nice scenery, bring a picnic,
and we were in splendid isolation, 100 metres between people on the first afternoon and entirely alone next morning

I'd like to get there one day, I also heard about the lack of activity on most days.

Good to see you scored at least one aircraft coming through.Nice shot too!
