Nice job there Damo - never been in a Islander, but they're supplied to be good & rugged twins aren't they?

What's the story behind this bird?

Cheers, gents (I can refer to y'all as "gents", can't I? )

This particular kit was presented to me mid-last year to build for the Northern Area Modellers annual club comp. It was a *lot* of work, sanding off all the rivets and other external details, which were way over-scale, and getting the paint as right as I could. I also had to find a replacement kit, 'cos I royally stuffed the original I had. The third photo shows it next to the trophy I was awarded for first place :)
