Nice work Ray. I realy like these war birds turned into civil machines.
Cheers!

Thanks Uros, me too.

An L-188 Electra up next I hope, though it is sort of reversed, A civil machine that was turned into a war machine.

I regained my mojo with this one today after loosing interest in for a while

The engines when together with little fuss after replacing the the exhausts ( that is as far as I got, well I puttied the seams as well)
Image

One of the props did give me grief as the holding pin slipped off the hub a little, enough to keep it in the nacelle but to much to keep a snug fit, there was a 2 mm gap between the front of the nacelle and the back of the hub, so it was basically rattling around rather than spinning. Anyway the prop ended up falling off the pin so I split the nacelle open and reassembled it properly.

Engines were sanded and added to the wings, the joins then filled and sanded again, right wing

And the left wing with the troublesome No 3 engine gluing prior to puttying the nacelle to wing gaps
Image

Next I started to add the horizontal stabs and test fit the canopy, I found that there was a gap at the front which needed some shimming
Image

and finally the other stab fitted and glue setting
Image

Let's see if I can now see this to the finish!

Now approaching the finish line with this one, I have painted the internals, not sure of the colours so made it up with interior green featuring a lot. The wheels are also painted and on

I also added the deicing boots that need a tidy up
Image

And it was finally time to add the canopy assembly, I tried to adjust as much as I could before fitting but some filling still required (and some persuasion to help the glue set).

It has since been filled, I letting it all set before some sanding and further paint work

Good to see it getting there, didn't realise that there was so much resin, wings and engines in particular, is there a lot of difference to the Lanc ones?

Late Edit
Silly me, when looking over the post I see that is the strange colour that the US Airfix kit is moulded in

All good Graeme,

some more painting done, I just have to re-mask one of the deicing books on the vertical stabs as I botched it a tad
