Argentinian Navy P-3B Orion

A place for our military aviation modellers to show their stuff. It may not be civil but it still has a home here

Argentinian Navy P-3B Orion

This is the Hasegawa P-3C Orion converted to a P-3B of the Argentinian Navy.

I modified it to a B model by removing the sonbuoy tubes and updating the antenna config consistent with the prototype. The HF wire antenna lines are EziLine. I also rescribed the model.

It is painted mainly in Gunze acrylics and SMS metallics and decalled with the DekLs sheet (the reverse type).

That looks awesome Ray. I have a 1/144 kit in these colours to do. How did you find the decals? :)

Thanks Paul,

I have used these types of DekLs a few times now and have a good method, I use Microset to apply them and Microsol to bed them down. This is an early version of the sheet and the placement instructions are lacking, there are 2 set of rescue arrows and warning placards, etc. I had to check pictures to know which to use. I don't know if the instruction sheet has been updated since I got mine which was a few years ago. I'll have to drop Derek a note and mention my experience with them.
