Stuff I done on Sunday...
Repainted the fuselage and played around with cheatline masks. I've decided to cut my own on the Cameo cutter, so after a bit of a web search (and a quick chat to Kevin Futter) I ordered some Oramask 810. Should be arriving soon...
Also got my window decals yesterday afternoon.

With the Oramask, don't leave it too long between cutting it and sticking it on your model as I've found it shrinks over time. I'm not sure if it would shrink once stuck on the model though. I have a heap Oramask stencils I've cut as well as other vinyl canopy masks and they are all buggered due to shrinkage, something I'm sure you're very familiar with

Don't worry mate...I'll be using them as soon as I cut them. I don't want shrinkage....otherwise they'll only be a big as yours..

The Oramask arrived this morning, so having a day off, I played around with the Cameo cutter until I got it right. Ended up using about 1/3 of a sheet (they're 1m long by 30cm wide..) until I got these beauties!

So the first side has the Oramask on. I placed a strip of Tamiya tape along the top edge, and another at the end of the cheat line, to define the boundaries. Next I taped the mask sections together so I could pull them off the backing sheet as one. Then I put the mask in place, and finally removed the section between the two cheat lines. Might even take some pics of the process when I do the other side..

I noticed that the masks applied in the previous post were a couple of mm forward of where they should be. So off they came, another set was cut, and away we went again.
This time I think I've got it....finally..
Anyhow, in this pic, you can see the tape guides I put on the model. There's one at the LH end of the mask, just under the tail, and another running front to back. Then there's all the tape holding everything together.

Last Friday I received some unwelcome news. Seems the owner(s) of my house want to move back in, and I've been given until October 5th to find a new place. So no more updates for a while as I pack everything away..
