Yeah Tony, I should have posted that I was going. It was a bit of a last minute decision and I was in a mad rush getting the crew organised and out the door - no mean feat I'm sure you will agree! I was the middle aged dude looking pathetic drooling over the safety barrier in my standard airshow attire (Heavy Rock t-shirt, TAM Sabre cap, safety sunnies, as my cool sunnies are U/S!) and surrounded by females - well, one I married and three others I had a part in making! Yes, I am a aviation nerd or as I like to adopt the description invented by our site owner - a AEROSEXUAL - and lovin' it!

Anyway, the kids loved it and my brother brought along his 3 y.o little blonde terror. We let 'em all loose in the museum afterwards.

Not great shots of mine, as I'm fumbling around using a slow 200mm lens. It does give those not present some idea of just how impressive this aeroplane is and I'm glad I made the effort to witness its first public display at one of my fav places in the world to visit - RAAF Point Cook! Hope you like!

And yes, the pilot had a grin from ear to ear and was really pumped after his flight!

Thanks Adam, the photos are great especially the close up of the wing folding mechanism.
Got to be one of my favourite all time aircraft, wish I had been able to get there.

Cheers,
Wayne
