All Things Avalanche

All Things Avalanche

Tonight, I watched two things primarily: the Avalanche Blue Jackets and the VH1 Classic 100 top hard rock songs of all time, hosted by the extremely awful Bret Michaels from the even more extremely awful Poison. The fact that any Poison song ended up in the top 100 just proves how in the tank VH1 is for Bret and his of Love shows featuring a bunch of booze addled bimbos eligible young ladies pining after a 25 years long washed up, never was older rock star.By the end of the night, I wasn sure what was uglier: David Coverdale hair extensions or the Avs play against the mighty Columbus Blue Jackets at the Pepsi Center.Honestly, rock stars should just not get old. Looking at Iggy Pop face was completely depressing. Looking at what age has done to Billy Squier was truly a gasping, horrifying moment. These were some of the people I thought were cool at one time in my life and now they look like you remember your grandfather looking like when

tedhairs hits you: wait a minute, they not all that much older than I am right now. What must I look like compared to what I was when Pop and Squier were cool?Watching that show tonight was definitely not a good thing. After every lead singer for every band featured in the top 100 came on, the gasps from my mouth got progressively higher pitched. my god, look at David Coverdale face. my god, look at Ann Wilson now. She Roseanne Barr! my god, is that Jimmy Page, or did Yoda play lead guitar on the last Led Zeppelin tour? feel old, and I don like it. I going to have some major, major aging issues, I know it. I might be one of those guys that, if I have any money left in about 10 years, might blow it all on some plastic surgeon or hair specialist, and end up looking like a cross between David Gest and Joan Rivers, with every last centimer of facial skin pulled back until there is just a hollowed out skeletal outline passing as a face.I guess, after watching that show, I a little more happy that I never became famous at least. When you reach the kind of rock stardom like, say, a Robert Plant, your whole life becomes one long shot. You see the shots of him belting out Lotta Love from the and how great the whole band looks, then you see the clips of them on the reunion tour,
tedhair 2007, and you shudder.Speaking of horror and shudders and gasps and shock, the Avalanche performance tonight induced as much or more than Billy Squier face, circa 2008.That was a disgrace to the game of hockey by the Burgundy and Royal Blue tonight. If this game didn get Francois Giguere reaching for the nearest phone to make calls around the league to talk a little trade, I don know what will.Tyler Arnason needs to go. Now. He needs to just go. The hope is gone. The experimentation phase is over. The got potential, maybe he just needs a little more time thoughts are gone. He needs to go. Period. It not working as the No. 1 center. It wasn working as the No. 3 center. He needs to go.Peter Budaj just isn a No. 1 goalie. Sorry, Boods backers, but he not good enough. Period. He a good kid and I hate to keep knocking him, but he not good enough. He just not. Don give me any the D didn play that great in front of him and it not his fault and blah blah blah. He was awful tonight, and he lost five four of his last six starts. Not good enough, sorry. I wish I could say different. But I can too inconsistent. Svatos too inconsistent. Jones too young, just not there yet. Hensick too young, not there yet. Hannan not the D man we all expected when four years and $18 million came his way. Leopold where he been lately? Guite haven noticed him at all since he came back. The thing with the Avs always is, though: they always got a bit of an excuse. The fact is, this team is missing its TOP TWO centers. So, losses are going to happen. I still a little surprised this team is over.500 right now.
