I noticed, but knew what you were trying to say, so let it slide.

I got a B-25J Mitchel Bomber, a Bristol Beaufigher MK.VI from Mr. Wong (should have gotten two), a heap of Beaufighter aftermarket gear from RedRoo (some of which will wait until I get that second Beau) and a book on modeling Tamiya Beaufighters. Yes I went a little Beaufighter mad and I'm well into obsessive research mode for my next build, a Beaufighter Mk.21... straight after I finish the A380-800, Grumman Wildcat and Aussie Bushmaster.

Now Troy that is what I call a magnificent obsession! Nothing wrong in my books obsessing over such a beast of an aeroplane! Read about the work those beauties did in the Bismarck Sea - would not have enjoyed being on the receiving end of those 4 x 20mm's! Looking forward to seeing you start this build.

I find my best builds are those I obsess over and dream about. The Caribou, F-111, Super Hornet, Hercules and the Tomcat all had massive amounts of book reading, sleep dreaming and internet surfing involved. The Beaufighter is definitely going down that path at the moment. I love it.

Troy I agree 100%. My most fav builds are those I obsess about - I get into the "zone" with all the research, etc. In particular, the F-105 and A-1 Spad builds had this "effect" on me. Once a build has that passion element, it brings out your best. I find it pretty hard to build anything now that does not have a story behind it - that I think is the secret to great model building.

Talking of research on the Yak-52, I almost puked in the back of one whilst inverted and 500 feet above the Werribee River hanging in the way too loose harness! Had to re-swallow my breakfast or face the embarrassment and extra $50 cockpit cleaning charge!

Troy...a beau is a great thing to obsess over....i have a MK21 built.....i have another one planned with redroo upgrades and the one i got from Mr Wong will be a british built MKvi........as far as ihave found out all of our MKvi's had flat tailplanes...so i have the redroo set waiting ...it just looks the stuff on the shelf.
even in 1/72 scale they look awesome.

Thats the spirit. I nearly bought another two today so I could do a Mk.X and a Target towing Mk.21, too, but resisted until I get back from Perth at the end of the month.

Adam, I was kept awake last night with obsessive thoughts on how to detail the interior of a 1/72 Caribou and open up the rear door. As I already have the resin cockpit, open engine and tails to enhance my next caribou, I think another Bou is in my near future. I don't think my brain can handle being super obsessive on two builds at once, though. Beau first, the Bou.
